Our Story

We met in the most conventional way possible of this decade.

We weren’t high school sweethearts, we didn’t meet each other in university, we weren’t co-workers, we didn’t meet in a club or bump into each other on the street and we didn’t have mutual friends (that we knew of at the time).

Our paths may or may not have crossed, but we ultimately met via online dating; two souls swiping to find the one bee out of the masses.

We knew very early on (like the second date) that we had found our partner for life and the rest is history or so we thought, but entered the pandemic.

We got engaged via a post-it note proposal – an original idea that was executed amazingly with the love of our friends and family at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the uncertainty of a pandemic had us questioning how long we could go on without ‘starting life together’.

After lots of uncertainty watching the news, countless press conferences, restrictions being placed and lifted and social gathering numbers increasing and decreasing, 5 months later we got married at The Manor by Peter & Paul’s just as the second wave of COVID-19 was beginning.

It was the most perfect day at the end of September with a beautiful massive white tent that overlooked the water, our family and friends – some masked and some not and a forecast of 32 degrees celsius. We couldn’t have asked for a better day to have pulled off a pandemic wedding.
